Often met in elevators as people are referred to the Office of the hotel during their coffee break or that they need to miss meeting or workshop sessions because they have commitments at home. I always feel bad them because they are unable to focus on fully or enjoyment of the event you are in.
Over the years I have probably hundreds of conferences and organizational activities outside my city. I have learned a few things that help me derive the full value of my registration fee and time commitment as follows:
1-come this afternoon before this event-this will give you enough time to get from the airport to the hotel before the start of rush-hour traffic. Usually not accused in the hotel lobby where quick check. You have plenty of time to relax or spend time touring new town if you wish.
2. go to the hotel-I spent about half an hour of discharge. This means cut my clothes on hangers in the Treasury, and received my cosmetics in the bathroom. I read the information provided by the hotel so I'm familiar with rest and dine on site. I'm also sure that the computer and Internet arrived in operation (or maintenance call assistance).
3. for a few minutes early registration – you will be able to meet people and book review resource tables and table and find a seat in the rooms prior to arrival. It will allow you time to review documents in the welcome package in the registry.
4. write notes that you will use-I'm a big star mark by the names of books or people or ideas that I want to achieve. It is therefore very easy to follow with additional learning.
5. ensure timely and stay to end all sessions – you've paid the registration, time travel and accommodations that need to get your money's worth.
6. don't play yourself of socialization in the evening-Tine take lunch and go to bed so that you will fall on the following day.
7. stay in the hotel until the evening after the event – this gives you time to review your notes and "do your homework", Rybak and access to the airport without feeling rushed.
8. not to book the following day clients--they rarely have to cancel appointments, but this often happens as a result of cancellations or delays. After that one extra day allows me to return home, do laundry and settle in before heading to the Office.
Should not attend meetings or taking a training Marathon. If you follow these tips you'll soon get the full value of professional development opportunities, but at the same time, balancing that with good self-care practices.
